A couple of months ago we were excited to announce the first in a series of podcasts from the legendary French disco king Cerrone - a name that is also synonymous with the soulful house scene, having had many of his hits remixed and sampled over recent years. Well, that debut episode was very well received, getting more than 1,200 listens in just a few days.

So we are once again pleased to exclusively announce the second edition of the Cerrone podcast. With his first episode, Cerrone introduced us to some of his favourite disco cuts from the '70s. With this second instalment, he continues this musical journey into the '80s, bringing us a selection of his favourite tracks from the that memorable decade. And just to add to the authenticity, this time the podcast is hosted by the man himself - in French!

The official start to the weekend on SSRadio, the Hype Energy Dancemix started life on the original Deep & Soulful channel way back in the early days of SSRadio.

The official show of our long-time friends and sponsors Hype Energy Drinks, the show has evolved musically over the years, and can now be found gracing the same Friday night hot-spot on the Tuff & Twisted channel.

Broadcasting live every week from the sunny shores of Marbella, Spain, the three amigos John Hobbs, Mitchell T and Gary Young do a sterling job getting us in the mood for the weekend ahead. We caught up with John to find out a little bit more about him...

1. Describe the music you play?

   I play big room sounds - Techno & House.

2. Who are your inspirations, ie. musicians/producers etc?

   Back in the day Kerri Chandler, Derrick May. Up-to-date, there are so many producers who inspire me -Dubfire, Format B, Marco Carola - the list is huge. Again same for labels - Great Stuff, Toolroom, Cocoon, Itch Records.

3. What are your current top 3 tracks?
   1. Hawt - Moonlighting (Filth & Splendour Remix) - Blaubeat (Baroque)
   2. Tim Deluxe - Storm In A Teacup (Original Mix) - Skint Records
   3. Mark Mendes, Mike Jacinto - Relic (Original Mix) - Starter Records
4. What is your most memorable set or DJ moment?

   There are so many! One in particular, I was playing to 1000 up-for-it clubbers at my own event with Mitchell T, Battle of the Beats, 2004, a feeling that will never leave the database!

5. Tell us something we don't know about John Hobbs?

   I'm working hard on my own music productions, which will be released by the end of the year. I'm in the process of starting a new international dance party brand. I don't sleep a lot and I have a tendency to eat a lot of plumb tomatoes!
